About AggieAdvocates
Anyone can be an AggieAdvocate.
You can stay involved with the UC Davis campus with a minimal time commitment by becoming an AggieAdvocate and signing up.
When public policy issues arise that significantly affect the campus (such as the state general fund budget) Aggie Advocates will send you an email advocacy alert requesting your participation in writing letters or making phone calls to your elected representatives.
We will also keep you informed as issues move through the legislative process or when advocacy activities such as events, town halls, and forums arise.
AggieAdvocates may visit state legislators in their district offices to talk about UC Davis’ impact on the region; and by all means tell friends, neighbors and colleagues about the importance of the University in your life, your community, and state. Currently, the state budget and stable longterm funding for public higher education are key issues for UC and the UC Davis campus.
The biennial UC Day legislative conference in Sacramento encourages selected alumni and friends from all of ten UC campuses to visit the Capitol and meet with elected officials. Advocates also participate in the annual Joint Higher Education Day where advocates from all three segments of California public higher education make legislative visits and discuss the importance of public higher education.
Between dwindling state resources for public higher education and legislation that impacts the UC mission there is much work to be done.
Come on, join us. The University of, by, and for California needs you!
Go Aggies!
