Due Dates and Deadlines

You and your students have a lot of due dates and deadlines to keep up with. So here’s our small way of helping you tie that string around your finger.

But wait — this calendar does not include all the must do’s. Yes, you still have to read that official stuff in the Class Schedule and Registration Guide, financial aid and housing contracts, and other UC Davis documents.

Fall Quarter 2008

Oct. 1, Wednesday — Housing payments are due for fall quarter.

Oct. 1, Wednesday — This is the last day for students to downgrade their meal plan.

Oct. 1, Wednesday Applications for 2009-10 scholarships for continuing undergraduate students are available online. They are due Jan. 2.

Oct. 8, Wednesday — For the fall quarter, this is the last day for late fee payment with a $50 late fee.

Oct. 8, Wednesday — For students expecting to complete work for a bachelor’s degree in the fall quarter, this is the deadline to file a graduation application to be awarded the degree in December.

Oct. 10, Friday — The second installment is due for those families using the Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan.

Oct. 20, Monday — For winter quarter, registration appointment times and the Class Schedule and Registration Guide are available.

Oct. 27, Monday — Registration for winter quarter continues through Jan. 1 according to the pass system and assigned appointment times.

Oct. 29, Wednesday — This is the deadline for submitting online applications for the spring UC Davis Washington Program.


Nov. 7, Friday — Students expecting to complete work for a bachelor’s degree in the winter quarter may file a graduation application through Jan. 16 to be awarded the degree in March.

Nov. 10, Monday — The third and final installment for the quarter is due for families using the Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan.

Nov. 11, Tuesday — The campus is closed in observance of Veteran’s Day.

Nov. 27 and 28 — The campus is closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday; residence halls remain open, but no meals will be served through Nov. 30.


Dec. 1, Monday — Applications for the UC Davis Quarter Abroad for spring quarter are due.

Dec. 5, Friday — Instruction ends.

Dec. 8, Monday — Exams continue through Dec. 12.

Dec. 12, Friday — Final exams and the fall quarter end.

Dec. 13, Saturday — Residence halls close at noon for the winter break.

Dec. 23, Tuesday — Grades are available to students through the online Student Information System known as SISWeb.

Dec. 24 and 25 — Campus is closed for the winter break.

Dec. 29, Monday — Last day to pay winter quarter student fees without the $50 late fee.

Dec. 29, Monday — Last day to apply for the quarterly Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan and to pay the first installment.

Dec. 29, Monday — For winter quarter, this is the last day on which applications for waivers from the mandatory Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be accepted by Student Health Services.

Dec. 31 to Jan. 1 — The campus is closed for New Year’s.

Winter Quarter 2009

Jan. 1, Thursday — Housing payments for winter quarter are due.

Jan. 5, Friday — Students with valid photo identification may pick up financial aid funds at Student Accounting.

Jan. 10, Saturday — For winter quarter, the second installment of the Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan is due.

Jan. 15, Thursday — This is the last day to file an application with graduate programs for 2009-10 fellowships and graduate scholarships. Some programs may have earlier deadlines.

Jan. 16, Friday — For winter quarter, this is the last day for fee payment with a $50 late fee.

Jan. 16, Friday — For students expecting to complete work for a bachelor’s degree in the winter quarter, this is the deadline to file a graduation application to be awarded the degree in March.

Jan. 19, Monday — The campus is closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

Jan. 21, Wednesday — This is the deadline for submitting online applications for the summer UC Davis Washington Program.


Feb. 2, Monday — For spring quarter, registration appointment times and the Class Schedule and Registration Guide are available.

Feb. 9, Monday — Registration for spring quarter begins according to the pass system and assigned appointment times.

Feb. 10, Tuesday — For winter quarter, the third and final installment is due for families using the Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan.

Feb. 16, Monday — The campus is closed in observance of President’s Day.

Feb. 25, Wednesday — This is the deadline for submitting online applications for the fall 2009 UC Davis Washington Program.


March 2, Monday — This is the deadline for students to apply for financial aid by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

March 16, Monday — Instruction ends.

March 17, Tuesday — Exams continue through March 21.

March 21, Saturday — Exams and the winter quarter end.

March 22, Sunday — Residence halls close at noon.

March 23, Monday — For spring quarter, this is the last day to pay fees and enroll in classes without a $50 late fee.

March 23, Monday — Last day to apply for the quarterly Registration Fee Deferred Payment Plan and to pay the first installment for spring.

March 24, Monday — For spring quarter, this is the last day on which applications for waivers from the mandatory Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) will be accepted by the Cowell Student Health Center.

March 25, Wednesday — Residence halls open at 8 a.m., and meals resume with dinner.

Spring Quarter 2009

March 26, Thursday — The spring quarter begins.

March 26, Thursday — Financial aid funds are available through direct deposit.

June 4, Thursday — Instruction ends.

June 6 and 8-11 — Final exams.

June 11, Thursday — Final exams and the quarter end; residence halls close at 7 p.m., and the last meal is lunch.

Summer Sessions 2009

June 22, Monday — Summer Session I continues through July 31.


July 3, Friday — The campus is closed to observe Independence Day.

July 8, Wednesday — For students expecting to complete work for a bachelor’s degree over the summer, this is the deadline to file a graduation application to be awarded the degree in September.


Aug. 3, Monday — Summer Session II continues through Sept. 11.


Sept. 7, Monday — The campus is closed for Labor Day.
